BESIX Middle East delivers Atlantis The Royal

Located on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah, the Atlantis The Royal commands attention with its striking design. It comprises of six  towers reaching heights of up to 185 and 165 metres above sea level. The towers are connected by a 45-metre skybridge 95 metres above the ground.

The Atlantis The Royal has total of 795 rooms and suites and 231 serviced apartments, some of which have private pools and terraced gardens.

In addition, there are 12 swimming pools, a beach and night club, a 3,000 sqm wellness haven and 17 restaurants and bars, including eight celebrity chef restaurants.

Topping it off is a rooftop featuring a 90-metre infinity sky pool with views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline.

According to Valery Paquier, project director at BESIX Middle East: “The project was extremely demanding from start to finish… Great care was taken to ensure that every aspect of the construction was thoroughly considered and attended to, both within the building and on its exterior.

“Numerous departments within BESIX showcased their expertise, including the operational teams, the technical office, procurement and certainly the quality control teams.”

A major milestone in the project was the lifting of the 1,260 tonnes, 45-metre sky bridge by strand jacking. The sky bridge was first constructed on the roof of the main lobby, and then gradually raised to its final height of 93.5 metres. It then took another month to securely attach it to the existing structure and complete all necessary connections.

The new Atlantis The Royal is located near the original Atlantis hotel, Atlantis The Palm, forming a sprawling entertainment destination. The two hotels boast a total of two kilometres of beachfront, making it the largest uninterrupted stretch of privately-owned beachfront in Dubai.

The Atlantis The Royal was officially inaugurated in January 2023 with a major celebration featuring a performance by pop star Beyoncé. Atlantis The Royal has opened to the public on February 10, 2023.
