Fundació Mies van der Rohe and Labóh invite you to the third edition of Architecture & the Media at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion.

A symposium curated by Miriam Giordano that is supported by Creative Europe as part of the EUmies Awards and is celebrated in the framework of the +Model Barcelona Architectures Festival around architecture perceived as culture.

The third edition Architecture & the Media, centered on how social media generates new ways of communicating architecture, will focus on how different channels contribute to spread the knowledge about architecture and make a step further in exploring the role of image in the dissemination of the discipline.

The program will start on the evening of Monday, April 24, from 7.30 to 9.00 p.m., with an opening conversation: The infinite scroll. Social Media impact on architecture communication between Maite Sebastiá (Architectural Digest) and Ane Cortzen (DRTV).

On Tuesday morning, April 25, two round tables will be held. The first one, from 10.00 to 11.30 am:  As long as they talk about it? Claiming the most topical issues in architecture: social media in the promotion and the debate with Frances Williams (The Architects’ Journal), Erik Harley (Oficina Periferia) and Andrés Rubio (El Viajero-El País). The second one, from 12.00 to 13.30: Everyone’s architecture. Social networks tools and dissemination to the general public with Antoni Ribas (Diari Ara), Cristina Nadotti (La Repubblica), and Luis Lope de Toledo (#JuevesDeArquitectura).

On the afternoon of the 25th, from 4 to 7 p.m., we’ll have a workshop led by Christiane Bürklein (Floornature) on the phases and professions involved in the news creation process: Back and forth. Press Relations for Architecture, between projects and the Media.

Finally, this third edition will be closed on the evening of the 25th, from 7.30 to 9 p.m. with the conversation between David Basulto (ArchDaily) and Federica Sofia Zambeletti (KoozArch): Visions’ as artworks. The viralisation of architecture image beyond its built form.

Tickets are free and seating is limited, check the program, choose what you are interested in and book now!
